Welcome back to school! I trust each one of you had a great summer and you are ready to get back to the academic learning process. I look forward to being your math teacher this year and I know that together we can have a very successful class. Our goal is to broaden our understanding of math which will lay the groundwork for future mathematics classes and occupations.
Students are required to bring a pencil, paper and their textbook each day. The student is old enough to understand that it is important to come to class prepared.
Classroom rules: If a student receives three tardies, I will follow the rules set in the student handbook. If you are not in your seat when the bell rings you will be considered tardy. NO CELLPHONES ALLOWED.. Students not following these rules will be subject to discipline.
Follow directions the first time they are given and any time thereafter.
Raise your hand and wait for permission to speak.
Stay in your seat unless you have permission to do otherwise.
Keep hands, feet and objects to yourself.
Treat others with respect so that you will receive respect.
If the student is prepared with their materials and follows the class rules, the assignments can be done in class so no homework. I believe well used class time will benefit the student in their work and take out the frustration a student has with doing homework.
DUE DATES: Assignments will be given a due date. If the assignment is one day late the most you can receive is 80% of the grade, two days late will be 60% of the grade with a 0% given on the third day late.
